Ghostbusters

"Now I found out that nothing is given, don't know where the cards may fall,
all I know is that we've gotta get it,
we gotta make it on our own"
                      bobby brown    GhostbustersII

Ghosts of Christmas past...

Ghosts still around from previous environMENTAL oppressions...

A few of our least favorite things.

Bobby Brown wouldn't pretend to be anyone's role models these days.

On the journey to the top if your values are from a "mixed bag" it can get even worse.
(Do what I say---not what I do)

But at BiggaFiggaMedia.com
we still love our brother.

And of course we are all about solutions.

There are enough people TALKING about the problems.

SPEAKING OF GHOSTS!!!     SPEAKING OF GHOSTS!!!

"Had em throwing a party for a bunch of children,
while all the while the slime was under the building"
song: On Our Own (ghostbustersII)               artist : Bobby Brown

Imagine two kids going to the same school.

One grows up believing that he should
work smarter & not harder.

And the other grows up believing that he has to work twice as hard as the "right man"
a ghost/result of environMENTAL oppression)

Lots of well meaning parents do this but...
do the math!
How many kids want to pay the cost TIMES 2.

 Here's a suggestion:.
Tell kids they must do their absolute best & have faith that things will work out.

"It comes a time in our lives, you wanna be bigger, gotta keep, keep on pushing, you gotta learn to take control" ghostbusters II
Bobby Brown haters...have at it.

Just remember...
there is a little bit of good in the worst of us...
and a little bit of bad in the BEST of us.

Man, I don't want that!

The year is 2007.
An undiscovered rapper by the name of Jermaine Lamar Cole (J. Cole) waits patiently for an opportunity to hand Jay Z a CD with his music on it.

Two and a half hours later Jay Z steps out of a black Rolls Royce Phantom & and when J. Cole tries to hand him his CD,  Jay Z says to him...
"man I don't want that"

Of course Jermaine Cole is
very disappointed.
"I thought he was evil at that point cause it caught me off guard...
I had such high hopes..."

How old were you in 2007?

I used to be a tomboy

ooh nana...what's my name?

As a kid...I loved to sing.

I also used to be a tomboy.

I did not grow up in the US.

One day I sang for a famous rapper.

Then I made a song about an umbrella!
Ooh nana...what's my name?

Most people know that I am Rihanna.

What too many people can't answer...

Is...who are you?

If you struggle to answer that ...
Take a little advice from us.

Don't waste precious time trying to
FIND YOURSELF.

That's old, traditional self improvement advice.
Spend a ton of time & MONEY trying to find out who you are.

A little time + a little money =  a new improved YOU.

Invest your time in creating the type of life you want in the FUTURE...

and in being the type of person you want to be TODAY.

Trust us...millionaires & movie stars in the past have spent years trying to "find themselves"..

If you are unhappy with WHO YOU ARE...
why not begin to re-invent yourself?

For example, what helps a beautiful, multitalented female from another country to succeed in the hard, male dominated world of AMERICAN hip hop?

Positive self talk.

Negative self talk might be the biggest roadblock of all on the road to success.

We have solutions for it ...for free.

Send an email to BiggaFiggaMedia@gmail.com with VIP in the subject line requesting your free copy of  our e-book "They can say whatever...No pain is forever".

What's up with this bully sh!+ anyway?

"I believe that life is a prize...
but to live doesn't mean you're alive"
artist: nicki minaj    song: moment 4 life

Any child who is the victim of bullying can identify with those words from the unofficial Life Coach known as Nicki Minaj.

Bullying is a national problem in the US...but guess what?

If you stopped 100 people & asked what the biggest problem is with our country, you might get 500 different answers.

Answers like drugs, crime, racism, homophobia, homelessness, single parent homes, Willie Lynch.

What's the point?

The point is as human beings we are prone to spending 90% of our time  talking about problems (which we can't agree on) and 10% of our time focusing on the solutions.

What's the one solution to every problem listed above?

A change in human behavior.

In the meantime...
everyday in the US
preachers will preach.
teachers will teach.
politicians will pass laws.
athlete's will play games.
frustrated parents will smack that asssssssk.

But nothing will change...UNTIL.

Until the individual behavior is changed.

But change makes many people uncomfortable.

Many preachers preach that God doesn't change AND
that he lives inside of me.
But over time, I have changed...so(just something to think about)

Many teachers believe old fashioned values should be taught...
But some...like the publisher of this blog remember having to read Little Black Sambo in kindergarten think we should play the whole tape out on that one too.

Do we even need to discuss the politicians?
Many believe that commitment means sticking to something even if it isn't working.

We already know.
BiggaFiggaMedia's "untraditional" approach to self improvement will not connect with many in that crowd & that's OK.
If you on the other hand cannot relate to traditional approaches to self improvement we are here for you. http://youtu.be/PRkw9UnVhug

talk about Character!

Readers of this blog should know about a surprise visit Beyonce once made to a hospital emergency room after a show in St Louis.

Why the visit?
Because during her concert, two fans were hurt when equipment from the stage fell into the front row.

Beyonce visited with the two fans for 45 minutes because of her concern about them.
(Talk about character & values!)

Proving that caring about people is one of her highest values Beyonce adjusted her schedule to go directly from the concert to the hospital.

Here's today's winning strategy.

Decide what's most important to you & become determined to stick with it...
even when it rains on your parade!
Do that & you'll find that like Beyonce you can stand the rain.
WHY?

Because inner strength will be your umbrella.

attitude...ice cube style

He...gave me this contract, and i said i wanted a lawyer to see it.

He almost fell out of his chair. I guess he figured, how this young mutha!@#% gonna turn down all this money?
ice cube---from the book "Attitude"--

Ice Cube was the first rapper not afraid to let the public know his feelings about how record companies were treating artists.
Long before indie labels became popular Ice Cube saw it coming.
Now Cube says the script for his movie about those early days  with NWA is almost finished.

Ice Cube's never been one to let other people make decisions for him about what to believe OR what not to believe.
What you believe about YOU affects YOUR decisions...

for example, do you believe that you are a "screw up"?

If you do, it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks...
you will eventually find a way to MESS THINGS UP.

WHY?
Because that's what you believe about yourself.

It doesn't matter if it's true or false...
but it does matter that YOU believe it.
BE ENCOURAGED THOUGH
If others have been able to turn negative programming around...
SO CAN YOU.

Do you believe that you are a person who can learn how to overcome mistakes?

BlackPlanet.com/Nicaragua

If so, it doesn't matter what anyone else believes---
you will find a way to overcome your mistakes.

Do you believe that life is just a game?
No problem.

Wanna be the next ?

"Luckily, my brand of music is never dictated

by the shifts of the industry because I've created my own sound...
I do it the way I do it"
artist: drake      interview: source magazine nov 2011
__________________________________________________________
Would you like to be the next Drake or

Nicki Minaj?

or maybe you would like to be the next Terrence J...

                                    Janet or Rosci?

If so, maybe you should dig a little deeper.
There is a lot of wisdom in the message Drake has for you..

Drake believes that because he has made the decision to go with his own style of rapping,
that it will add longevity to his career.

Does talent + good decision making = longevity?

It sure puts you in a better competitive position.

Maybe it's more important (AND EASIER) to just be yourself while you admire the work of your favorite entertainers.

BlackPlanet.com/Sweden

After all...what if you get that lucky break
(after the hard work) and
your career is based on you being something...
BlackPlanet.com/Cincinnati

THAT IS NO LONGER HOT?

Here's today's winning strategy.

Be YOU.
What the world needs now is YOU.
BlackPlanet.com/Brazil

Maybe a more SELF improved you would be nice...
but what the world needs now is YOU.

The big 3 help to control your destiny

"These people can't free South Africa-

they haven't even freed themselves!"                                          sister souljah----rapper---activist----author

One day while taking part in a neighborhood anti-apartheid march thru Newark NJ talented writer & rapper Sister Souljah had a thought hit her hard.

"I'm marching thru with hundreds of other kids, and we're going  Free South Africa!                 Free South Africa! And it felt like about 5000 bricks dropped on my head...I said Oh sh#!, these people can't free South Africa-they haven't even freed themselves!

WHAT ARE YOU ALLOWING TO HOLD YOU BACK...
THAT IS UNDER YOUR CONTROL?
BlackPlanet.com/Russia

Let's not spend time thinking about what you
cannot control.
(there is usually too much of that anyway)

WHAT ARE YOU ALLOWING TO HOLD YOU BACK THAT IS UNDER YOUR CONTROL?

BlackPlanet.com/Rwanda

It's important to learn how to control the BIG 3.

The BIG 3 help to determine your destiny.

What are the BIG 3?

THOUGHTS---WORDS---ACTIONS

your thoughts affect...
BlackPlanet.com/Netherlands
 your words.

The words you say to yourself
about yourself affect how you feel.
BlackPlanet.com/New Jersey

How you feel...affects what you DO.

Back in the day Sister Souljah recorded with Public Enemy.

One day she became a political punching bag by a politician running for USA president (who had his own shortcomings of course!)

LIFE IS A CLASSROOM
Lisa Williamson/Sister Soujah didn't let the hate hinder her on her personal journey to the top.
NO.
She remained focused on what she could control.

THOUGHTS--WORDS--ACTIONS
the big 3

They call it SELF help for a reason.

What are you allowing to hold you back?
